Fifty schools today commenced a two-day music,
dance, and drama at the Nyakuron Cultural Centre. That competition brings
together primary and secondary students from state, private, and community
schools to showcase their creativity and skills.
Hon. Dr. Kuyok Abol Kuyok, Minister of General
Education and Instruction, graced the event as the guest of honor. In his opening
speech, he expressed joy and admiration for the students’ performances,
describing them as inspiring and a reflection of the country’s bright future.
Dr. Kuyok emphasized the importance of
self-discovery in nurturing talent and praised the inclusion of diverse schools
in the event. He also commended President Salva Kiir Mayardit for prioritizing
education and for introducing free and compulsory education, which has expanded
learning opportunities across South Sudan, especially in rural areas.
The Minister congratulated both students and
teachers for their dedication, urging them to continue striving for excellence.
He encouraged learners to work hard, noting that through determination and
education, they can achieve any goal — whether in science, leadership, or other
fields.
Dr. Kuyok assured the audience that the
government remains committed to supporting education and talent development. He
concluded by urging students to take pride in their achievements and to
translate their talents into strong academic performance, promising to visit
participating schools in the future
