Hon. Minister Dr. Kuyok Abol visited the National Teachers Training Institute and Ibba Girls’ Boarding School in Maridi County, Western Equatoria State

The national Minister for General Education and Instructions Hon. Dr. Kuyok Abol Kuyok has reiterated the government’s plans to establish national Curriculum Development Institute in Maridi County, Western Equatoria State in a vision to strengthen education system in the country. Minister Kuyok confirmed this during his routine academic tour to Maridi County, to assess the mid-year academic progress in the national institutions. 

In his routine academic tour, the national Minister for General Education and Instructions Kuyok Abol Kuyok and the accompanying team of Directors, touched down at Maridi Airstrip and was warmly welcomed by the County Authority with a long queue of jubilant school learners. After having a brief meeting with the Commissioner, the team embarked on the visit to Maridi Girls Boarding Secondary School and Maridi National Teacher Training Institute and Ibba girls boarding school, to listen to the status of the schools, which were presented by the three administrations and the students collectively. In a statement after the tour, Minister Kuyok Abol Kuyok appreciated the resilience and commitment of the three schools’ administrations for keeping their candles burning despite prevailing challenges, assuring them of government commitment to add more impetus to strengthen national institutions in Maridi, stressing the need to establish a new curriculum in the country to support education system.
