Undersecretary vows to keep up the fight against exam malpractice.

Kacuol Mabil Piok was appointed the Undersecretary for the Ministry of General Education and Instruction by President Salva Kiir.

As he assumed his new responsibilities, Kacuol Mabil Piok stated that the Ministry is still dedicated to making sure that exam leaks never occur again. Kacuol declared, "We will cooperate to make sure that exam leaks are eliminated." He praised the team and previous General Education Minister Awut Deng Acuil for their tireless efforts to eradicate exam misconduct, saying that their strength was unwavering. "We will keep working hard to make sure that exam leaks do not happen in this country since they are lowering the quality of our education," he stated.

More than 40% of the 45,000 candidates that sat for the 2023-2024 South Sudan Certificate of Secondary Education (SSCSE) failed since there were no "exam leaks.According to the undersecretary, all types of malpractice will be eradicated with the help of the Ministry's staff. He declared, "Therefore, you can be sure that I will maintain the values of responsibility, transparency, and integrity in our operations." Mabil pledged to respect the values of openness, responsibility, and honesty. "I have advocated for transparency, accountability, and integrity for the past ten years of my professional career in a variety of positions, which has led to the success of important donor projects, especially in the social protection sector," he stated.
