Hon. Omot Okony Olok Guon is a veteran education leader and reformer with more than 40 years of experience in teaching, curriculum development, teacher education, and quality assurance. He is Undersecretary of the Ministry of General Education and Instruction (MoGEI) of South Sudan. Appointed to the role in January 2026, Hon. Omot provides strategic leadership in national education policy, curriculum oversight, and reforms that enhance the quality and inclusiveness of education nationwide. Prior to his current role, he served in various capacities within the Ministry for two decades (2006–2026). He was the Director General of the National Curriculum Development Centre, where he led major national curriculum reforms, teacher professional development initiatives, and the integration of Education in Emergencies into long‑term planning.
