The Undersecretary of the Ministry of General Education and Instruction (MoGE&I), had served in a similar position at the South Sudan Anti-Corruption Commission (SSACC) for five years before his appointment in February 2019.   

As the most senior civil servant and the Accounting Officer of the Ministry, the Undersecretary provides technical and administrative support to the leadership of MoGE&I: Hon Minister and the Hon Deputy Minister. With the support of the leadership of the Ministry, he also oversees implementation of the Ministry's policies, plans, guidelines and regulations to ensure that schools provide quality education and inclusive. Furthermore, as Chairperson of Steering Committees of several flag programmes, he coordinates implementation of the projects with partners and donors.  

Dr Kuyok is also an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Juba, where he regularly contributes to courses at the School of Education since 2010.
